Jules Channer is a creative and strategic thinker, with extensive experience of working with public and private sector organisations and universities. She has a proven track record of senior management, doctoral and applied research in the field of cultural and creative industries.
With a PhD in political geography and a Master of Research from University of Exeter, and a BSc (Hons) in sociology from University of Bath, Jules is a provider of thoughtful and informed insights. She aims to provoke new ways of thinking about policy issues and development opportunities, and to help people find practical and effective solutions. Competitive and results-orientated, Jules always has the bigger picture in mind.
Jules Channer Associates provides independent research and interpretation of evidence for policy and strategy development and decision-making. Expertise is based on a broad knowledge and understanding of the United Kingdom's cultural policy landscape, and more specifically public bodies involved in developing and governing the cultural and creative industries. Clients include: Arts Council England, Creative England, Heritage Lottery Fund, local and regional governmental bodies and councils, and universities.
Alongside being an excellent communicator, Jules is experienced in business and skills development programmes, project management and individual mentoring. She was previously Director of Education and Skills at South West Screen (2001-2005) and later a Creative England Associate, working with large and small creative businesses, universities and colleges. She is a passionate believer in the benefits of collaboration, partnership and the exchange of knowledge in achieving shared goals.
